From Thursday, 1 July 2021, Nuremberg’s municipal COVID-19 test centre at Albrecht Dürer Airport will be operated by the company Vitolus and the laboratory Eurofins Lifecodexx. As part of the Bavarian testing strategy, free PCR testing will continue to be offered to citizens residing in Bavaria and commuters. If test seekers cannot take advantage of the Bavarian test offer, they can still book an appointment and pay for the test.

Online appointment booking

The test centre at Flughafenstraße 100 is open Monday to Saturday, 8am to 8pm. People are invited to make an appointment in advance at https://www.vitotest.de/nuernberg. Those who cannot book a test online can register by telephone or on-site. However, without a prior booking, there may be a lengthy waiting time. With the new operator, contact details have also changed. For questions about the test and to make an appointment, the test station can be reached from Monday to Friday from 10am to 6pm at 089 904 212, and by e-mail support@vitolus.de.

PCR tests are also available for children from the age of three. People with symptoms must book an appointment and tick the appropriate box. Contact persons of confirmed Covid-19 cases are registered for testing via the Nuremberg City Health Office.

The laboratory transmits the test results by e-mail and SMS and, whenever necessary and if digital delivery methods are not possible, also by post. In the case of a positive result, they are also reported to the responsible local health authority. The results should be available within 24 and a maximum of 36 hours.

The Nuremberg Airport Municipal Test Centre is located at Flughafenstraße 100, car park P7. It can be reached by public transport – by underground (U2, airport stop) or bus (bus lines 30 and 33, airport stop). Car parking is free of charge for 15 minutes in the short-term parking area P5. Additional parking spaces for cars are also available for a fee.
