The sundial on the façade of the Fembo House is the focus of a new online offer. The City Museum in the Fembo House and the Centre for Art and Cultural Education of the Museums in Nuremberg (KPZ) invite all children to participate and be creative no later than Sunday 18th October 2020.

The Fembo House sundial has shown the time to people passing by for more than 400 years. But how does a sundial like this one actually work? The KPZ gets to the bottom of this question in a video. Anyone whose curiosity was piqued can design their own sundial step by step.

Photos of the self-made sundials can be sent to the following e-mail: stadtmuseum- fembohaus@stadt.nuernberg.de. Selected photos will be displayed on the Fembo House website.

Those who design their sundial and send it to Fembo House by the 18th October 2020 have the chance to have it exhibited in the museum showcase at the Lorenzkirche underground station from the end of October. The sundials can be handed over in person during the opening hours of the Stadtmuseum in the Fembo House or be sent by post to the following address: Stadtmuseum im Fembo-Haus, Burgstraße 15, 90403 Nürnberg, stating your first name and age.

All information about the Fembo-Haus sundial and the instructions for making your own are online at https://museen.nuernberg.de/fembohaus/aktuelles/sonnenuhren/
