U2 – Beethoven Celebrates Percussion
What: “U-Turn | the orchestra festival ignites the next stage of the classical music revolution: an evening with percussion star Alexej Gerassimez. He may not be banging the drums, but he will be playing trash and recycled material. He will play a brand-new percussion concerto by the successful composer Enjott Schneider, whose composition ingeniously translates the theme of sustainability into music!
Of course, the symphony orchestra will also present a smash hit, a real super hit for orchestra: Beethoven’s 5th Symphony – his most famous melody idea of all time: Tatata-taaa. All freshly and cheekily conducted by conductor and composer Gordon Hamilton. For the eye, there’s a breathtaking visualization that makes this evening, like the entire orchestra, a unique experience. And if you’ve got a taste for it, head to the food truck outside the door in between…“
