Additionally, the Filmhaus Nuremberg will host a series of rarely shown films from Rosa von Praunheim’s diverse body of work, complementing the exhibition. The exhibition will be open to the public from July 21 to August 12, except on Mondays, with guided tours offered on Saturdays at 5pm. Bavaria is the only federal state in Germany without a queer action plan, but Nuremberg has taken the lead by implementing its own. This event aims to discuss the importance and impact of queer action plans, identify areas of improvement, and voice our desires for the future. It will start with a guided tour of the museum at 5pm, led by Dr. Karin Falkenberg, who will explore the connections between toys, democracy, racism, and queerness. Following the tour, they will engage in a relaxed atmosphere to brainstorm and develop demands for the city, state, and federal governments regarding queer action plans. The event will conclude with a cosy gathering, depending on the weather, in a location specified in the online calendar. Distinguished guests include Christine Burmann, the Commissioner for Anti-Discrimination and LGBTQIA+ issues, who oversees the Nuremberg Action Plan and contributes to the federal government’s action plan, as well as a representative from the CSD (Christopher Street Day) association regarding their petition.
