Nuremberg Digital Festival Marks Eleven Years of Tech Innovation

The Nuremberg Digital Festival, the region’s premier event in the digital realm, is set to celebrate its eleventh edition from Monday, July 3–13, 2023. Serving as a pivotal platform for the digital society in the Nuremberg metropolitan area, this year’s festival embraces the theme of “connected.inspired.transformed” with a particular focus on the realm of “Artificial Intelligence” (AI). Offering a diverse range of events and activities, the festival welcomes participants free of charge.

As the patron of the Nuremberg Digital Festival, Dr. Michael Fraas, Nuremberg’s Commissioner for Economics and Science, underlined the festival’s significance, stating, “The impact of digital transformation extends far beyond the digital sphere and permeates every aspect of our lives and society as a whole. The festival’s success rests upon the active participation of numerous stakeholders from various sectors throughout the Nuremberg metropolitan area, including businesses, start-ups, educational institutions, and cultural organisations. This year’s festival features ten thematic tracks, each delving into a specific area of interest: “AI & Machine Learning,” “Cyber Security,” “Cloud & Infrastructure,” “Coding & DevOps,” “UX & Design,” “Marketing & Communication,” “Culture & Society,” “Business & New Work,” “Sustainability,” and “Games.”

Under the auspices of the Department of Economics and Science, the Nuremberg Digital Festival has gained recognition as a flagship event that has consistently enhanced Nuremberg’s reputation. This year, the department has organised five compelling events in collaboration with the Nuremberg Business Development Agency:

On Tuesday, July 4, at 1 p.m., the event “Digitale Erneuerung in kleinen Schritten: Smarte Hacks” will be held at the OM7 Business Innovation Center, Obermaierstraße 7. Participants will gain valuable insights and practical tools for digitisation outside the corporate realm in a concise one-hour session.

The highly anticipated XR Day Nuremberg, scheduled for Thursday, July 6, starting at 3 p.m., invites visitors to immerse themselves in virtual realities at the XR HUB Nuremberg, located in SüdWestPark 15-23. Attendees will have the opportunity to explore and engage with Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), and Mixed Reality (MR) technologies through captivating exhibitions, presentations, and hands-on experiences.

Marking its presence on Monday, July 10, the event “Nachhaltigkeitsberichterstattung: Pflicht und Chancen” will take place at the Wirtschaftsrathaus, Theresienstraße 9, 5th floor, Room 36. Participants can partake in an interactive workshop that delves into legal requirements, current trends, and practical implementation tools concerning sustainability reporting.

The “IdeenPitch Region Nürnberg” event is scheduled for Tuesday, July 11, starting at 5 p.m., at OM7, Obermaierstraße 7. Designed for all individuals interested in the startup ecosystem, this gathering offers a platform for networking and sharing ideas.

Concluding the festival’s lineup, the “Digitale Romantik: Kreativität meets KI” workshop will be held on Thursday, July 13, at the KREATIV LABOR within OM7, Obermaierstraße 7. Attendees will explore the fascinating interplay between creativity and artificial intelligence, delving into various experiments to uncover the synergistic potential of AI.
