Premiere of the film project “Musik einmal anders“

The premiere of the film project “Music in a different way – Musik einmal anders“ – an encounter across borders of the Nürnberger Gebärdenchors (Nuremberg Signing Choir) with a chamber ensemble of the Royal Scottish National Orchestra in Glasgow takes place in Nuremberg on 22th  June 2022 starting at 6 pm.

The filmic concert makes audible pieces of music tangible for the non-hearing through the visualisation of signers. The Nuremberg Sign Choir will perform traditional and modern sign songs and sign poetry together with informative sequences about barrier-free active participation and co-creation opportunities for deaf and hearing-impaired people. Accompanied by members of the Royal Scottish National Orchestra.

The screening will be followed by an exchange with the audience and members of the Nuremberg Sign Choir and the Deaf Community in Glasgow.

The event is a joint project of the twin cities of Nuremberg and Glasgow, the St. Egidien Sign Choir from Nuremberg, the Friends of Nuremberg-Glasgow, the Royal Scottish National Orchestra and the Goethe Institute in Glasgow.
