“Handcraft”: the name says it all. Tobias Schöpker and his band, in demand throughout Germany as well as internationally, play artfully handcrafted chamber music in a computer-free zone, whisking you away into the world of contemporary jazz. Schöpker’s compositions are a breeding ground of improvisation and interaction. They are compositions inspired by the great tradition of classical jazz quartet instrumentation, drawn from life and the experiences of a professional musician who is besides jazz quite at home in funk, soul, blues and pop.
