Nuremberg’s Altstadt is buzzing with excitement as the 46th Bardentreffen Festival kicks off this weekend. With approximately 100 concerts featuring world music, global pop, and talented singer-songwriters, this year’s theme of “Geklaute Laute?” (“Stolen Sounds?”) promises a captivating musical journey. Best of all, admission is free, so gather your friends and immerse yourselves in the festivities!

Discover the heart of Nuremberg’s Altstadt as you wander between the festival’s nine central venues. Consider taking public transportation for convenience, with U1 Lorenzkirche station and Bus Line 36 Theresienplatz being recommended stops. Festival-goers arriving from Nuremberg Hauptbahnhof can enjoy a pleasant 15-minute stroll along Königstraße to reach the excitement.
Stay hydrated at the water fountains on Hallplatz and Karolinenstraße, and be sure to catch the street music stage near Sparda-Bank. To enhance the experience, Tucher Privat is introducing empty crates attached to lanterns around Hauptmarkt, making it easier for bottle collectors while minimizing glass breakage.
Enjoy spontaneous performances from talented street musicians, but kindly remind them to adhere to street music regulations throughout the weekend. This includes respecting designated zones and avoiding amplified sound. Let’s create a harmonious atmosphere for all to enjoy.
Can’t make it to every show? Don’t worry! The Bayerische Rundfunk and Arte in Concert will be live-streaming eleven concerts, including performances from Hauptmarkt, St. Katharina, Sebalder Platz, and the Insel Schütt. Additionally, Bayern 2 will be airing highlights from the 46th Bardentreffen as part of their “radiomitschnitt” series on four Sundays in July and August.
